Webinar: How Fahr Have We Come?

On 29th November 2023 at 12:00-13:30 GMT, Fahr Beyond met with specialists from Italy and the UK; Dr Amit Batla, Dr Francesca Magrinelli and Dr Miryam Carecchio, to discuss the latest developments in Fahr's Disease knowledge and management.

What was covered:

1 . An introduction to Fahr's Disease

  • Charity and Patient Perspective
  • Clinical overview: What is Fahr's Disease?
  • Progress being made

2. Question and Answer session

  • This was a facilitated discussion, with the panel members being asked questions from those submitted at the signup point to this event and from the floor on the day.

This event was designed for a universal audience (medical and non-medical backgrounds), so it was pitched for as many people as possible to gain an insight into what Fahr's Disease is, the challenges of being diagnosed, and the most appropriate care. We also touched on other matters such as living with Fahr's and the steps planned for better treatment and management.

Webinar: An Introduction to Fahr's

Fundraising

Fundraising is vital for Fahr Beyond to be able to continue to pave the way for new research and developments into Fahr’s Disease and the support we can offer our community.  Any fundraising event, no matter how big or small, can have a huge impact on the progress we are able to make, not only through the funds you raise but through the awareness you spread through your activity.

Here are some ideas but do get in touch if you want further advice and support:

  • Organise a legal raffle: ask friends and family for any new or unused items they no longer need and sell raffle tickets at £1 or £2 a strip.
  • A cake and coffee afternoon with friends/colleagues: you could do this at home or with approval through work and get others to bake their best cakes to sell with tea or coffee.
  • Set a challenge: Commit to completing something such as a sky dive or a hike, or run a half marathon (or full if you dare), and collect via a fundraising page such as Go Fund Me.
  • Host a quiz night: you could do this online or organised through a venue. A portion of the fee for entering the quiz could be spent on a prize and the proceeds donated.
  • Birthday fundraiser: Choose Fahr Beyond as your chosen charity for donations to the cause instead of gifts.
