Debra, 61
Living with Fahr's
Debra had a genetic test done and was diagnosed with Fahr's. She is 61 and stays extremely active. She does get fatigue but just pushes through.
Debra also has a meningioma that has not grown. She goes through spurts of vision headaches and sometimes experiences issues with balance.
Being outdoors helps her tremendously. She is not taking this disease lying down and is interested in altering the gene. Debra is presently taking Aldronate in hope that it shrinks calcifications, although she has been taking this for over a year now.

Managing Fahr's
To help manage her Fahr's Debra paints and creates things as well as keeping active, a positive attitude and a higher power to talk to.
Fahr's Support
Debra feels that the support she has received has been very limited. She feels that doctors need to acknowledge symptoms are in fact Fahr's, but to do this they need more information, knowledge and statistics to work with.
