Dr Adam Tate
Carina Fearnley
Dr Carina Fearnley is one of the founding directors of the charity and is Associate Professor of Science and Technology Studies at University College London. As an interdisciplinary researcher, Carina brings her understanding on managing scientific uncertainty, risk, and complexity to help Fahr Beyond develop its strategy to meet the needs of the future. In addition, through her own personal experiences, Carina is able to understand the implications of brain complications and is passionate in ensuring that patients are appropriately supported.
Vanessa Tate
Vanessa joined the director team in November 2018 in her commitment to ensure that Fahr Beyond has the operational systems in place for the charity to be able to support users of our services. She is particularly passionate about ensuring that the families of those diagnosed with Fahr's has the information available to help plan for care and living.Â
Dr Francesca Magrinelli
Dr Francesca Magrinelli is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow and Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology, University College London, and the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, London.
She has a clinical and scientific expertise in movement disorders and neurogenetics of movement disorders and neurodegeneration. Her research mainly focuses on gene discovery and validation, deep pheno-genotyping, genotype-phenotype correlations, and experimental approaches towards precision medicine. She recently identified PSMF1 as a new gene for early-onset Parkinson’s disease/parkinsonism. She has an interest in genetics of iron and calcium brain deposition.
She has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles on these topics. She was awarded the prestigious MJFF Edmond J. Safra Movement Disorders Research Career Development Award 2023.
Deepa Ramchandani
Deepa is an experienced professional in the financial services sector with a strong passion for supporting charitable organisations. Bringing several years of expertise in finance, governance, and strategic planning, Deepa leverages her skills to help charities enhance their financial health and sustainability. She also has prior experience serving as a trustee for other nonprofit organisations, where she contributed to governance, fundraising, and operational oversight. As a trustee of Fahr Beyond, Deepa is committed to helping the charity grow its impact through improved financial management and by developing strategic partnerships, particularly focusing on corporate fundraising.
Carl Ward
Carl has a proven track record and creating a successful and respected Homecare and Live in Care Agency in Kingston upon Thames for the past 19 years. Also as a Managing Director and owner of a substantial and profitable multi branch group within the Motor Industry. Particular areas of expertise encompass finance, personnel and recruitment, business growth and marketing. Also gained considerable experience in residential property development both in the UK and South Africa.
